The Canon PC 3, 5 and 7 copiers, also known as the PC Minis, were introduced in September 1986 (PC3/5) and March 1988 (PC7). The PC3 featured a copy speed of 1 copy per minute (cpm), while later models featured increased speeds of 6 cpm (PC5) and 8 cpm (PC7). As the name Mini suggests the copiers are compact and ideal for small office or home office work environments. Although discontinued by the OEM, there are still a few of these copiers in the field, and cartridges are still being remanufactured today.
The copiers use Canon A15 and A30 cartridges, which are similar in size and design with the exception of toner load; the A15 OEM cartridge features a smaller gram weight capacity than the A30. The A15 and A30 cartridges also compare closely to the SX cartridge, though component compatibility is quite limited, however, in regards to replacement parts. The SX and A15/30 cartridges only share a few of the same components, such as toner seal, cartridge pin, and wiper blade.
